Design Thinking Workshop
We'll kick off the event with a Design Thinking Workshop led by Nicole Dessain, Founder and Chief Talent Experience Designer at talent.imperative inc., and Lecturer at Northwestern University's Master's in Learning and Organizational Change. Nicole with help us learn how to apply the Design Thinking methodology directly to a change management scenario, step-by-step. You'll leave the event with transferrable skills that you can bring back and incorporate into your projects.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how design thinking principles can be applied in a change management context.
- Learn about design thinking methods and mindsets that you can take back to your change management projects.
- Get hands-on practice with a selection of design thinking tools.
About the Speaker: Nicole Dessain
Nicole is the Founder and Chief Employee Experience Designer at talent.imperative inc, an employee experience design consultancy. After she discovered design thinking while collaborating on a client project, Nicole became a student of the method and got certified by IDEO U and LUMA Institute. She is a SESP Lecturer at Northwestern University's Master's in Learning and Organizational Change Program which explores how design thinking might be applied to innovation in organizational effectiveness.
Nicole founded the HR.Hackathon Alliance and runs her own podcast, "Talent Tales", where she features leaders who have pioneered design thinking in the field of Humar Resources. She is currently conducting research for her first book about "Design Thinking for Human Resources" and published a LinkedIn Newsletter of the same name.
About the Panel
Former members of our Board of Directors will join in a panel conversation to discuss how the discipline of Change Management has evolved over the past 10 years, including the evolution of Midwest Chapter in order to meet our members needs and expectations.
Introductions and Recognition
We'll recognize committee volunteers and announce our Volunteer of the Year! You'll also meet the Midwest Chapter Board of Directors for the 2024 Fiscal Year!
Reception & Networking
Join us for a cocktail reception, including heavy appetizers, to celebrate our past, present, and future!
Registration & Cost
There are two types of ticket for this event:
The first is for the Entire Event which includes the Design Thinking Workshop, Panel Discussion, Board Announcements & Recognition, and Networking event.
The second is for the Celebration & Networking Only which does not include the Design Thinking Workshop.
