Psychological Safety Fosters Positive Change

As we lead change, we are focused on creating an environment where people are ready for and can adopt change. One aspect that can expand the capacity for change is building an environment and culture where team members feel psychologically safe. Amy Edmonson from Harvard defines psychological safety as "a belief that one will not be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns, or mistakes, and that the team is safe for interpersonal risk-taking." It is a simple concept, but it isn't necessarily easy to create. How can we work with leaders to instill an environment of psychological safety that further enables positive change?
