Hello Midwest Chapter community and happy Spring!
This is my final note as President of the ACMP Midwest Chapter and I have very mixed emotions. When I joined the board as Director of Operations in June 2018, I couldn’t imagine I would still be on the board five years later as President. What a wonderful journey it has been, all due to the amazing people I have had the opportunity to serve with, board members and volunteers alike. And how amazing it is that we just celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Chapter with one of our founding members!
So much has been accomplished in the past five years ─ membership grew by 40%, networking, development events, and partnerships opportunities were expanded, and new technologies were implemented to mature chapter operations. We also established a rainy-day fund to ensure the Chapter has the financial resources to continue for another amazing 10 years.
I’m excited about the incoming board of directors, headed up by President Christy Moody. I know their innovative ideas will continue to improve on what has been accomplished. It is a fantastic group and if you haven’t yet raised your hand to volunteer, now would be a great time.
See you at the next Chicago area networking event!

ACMP Midwest celebrates 10 years! The ACMP Midwest Chapter celebrated its 10th anniversary with a half-day event that featured a design thinking workshop, panel discussion, and a networking cocktail hour. Thank you to the workshop presenter, Nicole Dessain, and to the prior board members Barbara Trautlein, Martha Watt, and Stephanie Waite, who participated in a panel discussion on how the chapter and change management has changed in the past 10 years.

Jeff Bailey, PhD, CCMP,
PMP, was named ACMP Midwest Volunteer of the Year at the chapter’s recent 10th Anniversary Celebration. Jeff facilitated the CCMP study group, a 10-week class
in which he walks participants through the ACMP Standard for Change Management
and ACMP Change Management Code of Ethics. In addition, he also served on the
Operations Committee helping document chapter processes, allowing us to
streamline activities and provide a solid foundation for onboarding new board
members and volunteers.
“We’re so happy to recognize
Jeff with this award that was reinstated this year,” says Christy Moody, Vice
President. “It’s not an overstatement to say our chapter would cease to exist
without the service of our volunteers because there are no ‘staff’ positions. All
the programming is generated by a group of professionals dedicated to giving
back to the field of change management. Thank you to every volunteer for
enabling us to carry out our mission of engaging, growing, and empowering a
thriving Midwest community of change professionals, champions, and allies.”

Volunteer Spotlight: Sarah Williams
Sales and Technology Project Management Lead, Protective Asset Protection
What kind of work do you? I just began a new job with Protective in February. I am a Sales and Technology Project Management Lead within Protective’s Asset Protection Division. Prior to this, I was a Senior Change Management Lead at Country Financial.
How long have you been an ACMP member?
|
|
|
I have been a member for two years and a volunteer for one.
What do you do as a volunteer and why did you choose this role? I volunteer on the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) committee where I contribute to our social media content. I chose this role because of my experience in social media marketing and my desire to contribute to the chapter and growth of the discipline.
Why did you join ACMP Midwest? I wanted to be a member of ACMP Midwest to learn and gain wisdom from those more seasoned than me ─ not only in the growth of my professional network but the chapter organizes a lot of educational opportunities each month where I can sharpen my skills and bring new ways of thinking and fresh perspective into my work.
What are you looking forward to professionally? I am working toward obtaining my CCMP and looking forward to completing it.☺
What do you do for fun? I enjoy being active with my husband and exploring our new home in Columbus, Ohio!
The ACMP Call for Volunteers is now open! ACMP committees and task forces provide members with opportunities to make an impact on our rapidly growing and successful profession.
